Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
All the symptoms you have mentioned suggestive some minor
respiratory tract infection, probably viral in origin. Adeno virsu and RSV are the usual suspects!
I suggest you to
consult a pediatrician or a general practitioner and get the following things done:-
1.Rinse her nostrils with saline nasal drops.
2.If she has fever you can use
paracetamol syrup,Tepid sponging with tap water may help to reduce the body temperature.
3.Asthalin(
salbutamol) containing cough syrup can provide symptomatic relief. Do not use cough suppressants like
codeine containing syrups.
4.Do routine blood investigations in case of persistence of symptoms.
5.Avoid exposure to allergens and irritants like pets and dust mites.
6.Encourage your baby to breastfeed. This helps to keep the baby hydrated which in turn helps to promote draining of nasal secretions and soothing of the nasal cavities.
If your doctor suspect some bacterial infection a short course of antibiotic therapy may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
